The Ulysses Recoil Kit is a complete drop-in upgrade for your KWA RM4 ERG - increasing your felt recoil over the factory unit while also providing adjustable FPS output similar to the KWA VPS guide as found on the non-recoil guns.
Fully constructed from machined steel for increased durability with a nylon bushing to help quiet the physical movement. Each section is affixed via large threaded shafts, creating a superior strength design compared to the brass KWA recoil weight which is held together with roll pins.
This new updated version includes both a CQB and Field velocity spring and will cover all your Airsoft needs.
The Ulysses can also be optionally installed without the rear spring, functioning as a "recoil delete" to eliminate the recoil function and operate as a traditional AEG. Conventional AEG springs can be used in this configuration.
A KWA Recoil Disassembly Tool can be helpful in removing the spring guide end cap assembly, and is available for purchase with the Ulysses or separately.
Tech notes:
Please note that barrel length and quality of compression can greatly impact FPS output on individual AEG's and further tuning may be required to obtain desired FPS. Testing of the Ulysses Recoil Kit has been done using a Lambda Five 6.05 diameter 303mm length bore with perfect compression provided from the Tier 1 Upgrade.
While not marked, the springs can be easily identified by their length: the Field spring is the longest, CQB is mid-length, and the end cap spring guide spring is the shortest. The end cap spring is used for both the Field and CQB springs.
Tokyo Marui NGRS springs are also compatible with the Ulysses recoil kit. See testing notes below for approximate FPS values.

Just got mine in.
Love it. I found it to be far more "crisp" than stock. The recoil was more direct, less bouncy. It was a little more quiet as well, definitely less "twangy".
I had to dial the field spring all the way back, and was firing consistently at 1.52-1.54 joules on .32. When the spring settles I'll be right at field limit of 1.5.
Worth the purchase and glad to have one up in Canada.
Holy mother of corn!
I bought one of these for my partner's T-10, on the advice of Dan, and WOW. Seriously, I don't know why KWA doesn't integrate VPS with their ERG, but that right there is a lost opportunity for them.
Regardless, installation was a breeze, as expected, and the recoil can only be described with expletives. In a very positive way. I've shot realsteel .223s with less recoil. I am 100% getting one of these for my RM4A1 when I finally get it.
And yes, my partner loved the increased recoil. She cackled maniacally on full auto.
Oddly, despite more recoil, it "feels" quieter. Minus the *choonkchoonkchoonk*.
Awesome unit for ERG
If these are in stock, grab them ASAP. Theyre very well built, increases the felt recoil, and also allows you to adjust the fps finely like the VPS system. I have this, a 13:1 gear ratio, a gate titan, warhead motor, and 11.1. It kicks hard, only sucks up 15A on semi, and is so much fun.
The owner of the shop is also fantastic! Great communication, fast shipping, and always makes things right. I highly recommend!
