About
In early 2009, I embarked on my Airsoft journey, stepping away from my paintball roots where I had immersed myself for over 15 years. From running solo and on a team, to large-scale scenario games and competition events, I've explored various facets of the adrenaline-pumping sport over the years. However, the moment I stepped into my first Airsoft event and experienced the range and power of Airsoft replicas I was instantly hooked! Paintball quickly took a back seat, and it was just a hop, skip, and a jump away before I was "all in" on Airsoft. Like most first-time Airsofters, it wasn't long before I experienced my first major breakdown. Much as I did in Paintball, I decided to dive in headlong and fix it myself. The sheer variety of parts and upgrades available to Airsofters was initially mind-boggling, but this also allowed me to pursue a level of creative freedom I didn't have available to me in Paintball. Thus, another hook had been planted, and I soon discovered I had a natural talent for upgrading and repairing Airsoft AEG's.
Today, as the owner of Tactical Parts and full time Airsoft tech, I've gained over 15 years of hands-on experience in crafting and fine-tuning Airsoft replicas. On a yearly average, I repair, upgrade or build around 150 - 200 AEG replica’s and have made a name for myself as “the KWA guy” due in part to heavily specializing on upgrading that platform. I have also released a line of custom AEG rifles under my Black Swan Dynamics label, which I am proud to say can now be found in the hands of players on 4 continents. Outside of this, I am an active Airsofter at heart; regularly attending both local events and larger ones, including participating in many ROTC and National Guard FTX’s as part of a dedicated OPFOR element.
Dovetailing into my passion for Airsoft has been my work at Airsoft Action Magazine, an award-winning publication recognized for its in-depth coverage of the Airsoft industry. I remain actively engaged in contributing articles to this publication as Deputy Editor USA.
Because I am a small one-man operation and do not outsource labor or repairs, I can keep quality control high and maintain total control over the final result. Each repair or upgrade project is approached holistically, with a commitment to tailoring the replica to the player's unique persona and play style. I prioritize a personalized approach, ensuring that every AEG reflects its owner's distinctiveness on the field.
For me, the real reward is witnessing the joy on a player's face and hearing their enthusiastic "wow!" when they use one my builds for the very first time. This is what drives me to keep striving for excellence.
Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment. Full effort is full victory. - Gandhi
