The legendary CYMA FMR piston
The heart of the Tier 1 Upgrade is the CYMA FMR piston, boasting an unrivaled track record of ZERO failures to date. The full metal rack is corrected for optimal Angle Of Engagement and epoxied in place. This piston offers vastly increased durability over the OEM KWA.
Ultimate Compression, Ultimate Consistency
Every Tier 1 Upgrade includes a full compression system overhaul as standard. A Lonex POM ported piston head is installed with the bearings removed to reduce weight and the retainer screw is affixed using blue Loctite. This is paired to a Lonex CNC double o-ring aluminum cylinder head which has had 70D Gen. 2 AirPad affixed for AOE correction and shock dampening. The infamous leak-prone KWA air nozzle has been replaced with a Retro Arms CNC o-ring nozzle. For guns upgraded with the MAXX CNC rotary hop up chamber, the MAXX CNC air nozzle is used.
The sum of all these parts provides an absolutely air-tight compression seal and excellent FPS consistency.
Gears of War
KWA makes some of the best OEM gearsets currently available. So good, in fact, that I have yet to have a single set come in damaged or broken in all the years I have been upgrading and working on this system. These gears have proven themselves to withstand the rigors of hard use and high FPS systems as well as DSG conversions in excess of 50+ rounds per second. The ratio is a well-balanced 18.72:1, which is suitable for the vast majority of recoil-based build types.
VPS-based systems may be equipped with faster ratio SHS gearsets, which allow for a higher rate-of-fire and improved trigger response when paired with the appropriate motor.
One Motor to Rule Them All
A quality gearset needs a quality motor, which is why Ultimate versions of the Tier 1 Upgrade's now come standard with an upgraded Warhead brushless motor. Base version's of the Tier 1 upgrade will be equipped with a traditional - albeit, upgraded - ASG Infinity Neodymium motor.
The primary advantage of brushless motors is their incredible efficiency and amp-draw reduction. This nets the average build approximately 2x more shots per battery charge vs. brushed motors. When paired with the specific gear ratios, these also offer greatly improved trigger response, rate-of-fire gains and cooler operating temperatures. Simply put, brushless is the future.
Flat Trigger = Flat Out Faster
Krytac flat triggers are modified to fit the KWA lower, offering a reduction in felt trigger travel for faster follow-up shots. On TITAN compatible KWA models, a MAXX CNC flat trigger with end-user adjustable over-travel is installed for reduced travel distance.
Total Trigger Contact Protection
If selecting a MOSFET installation with your Tier 1 Upgrade, you will enjoy the benefits of total trigger contact protection and improved trigger response. For end users needing a simple MOSFET, the Gate NanoASR is the answer and contains a digital fuse to protect the system from short circuits. If you desire additional functions then the programmable Gate WARFET is what you need; this FET' offers pre-cocking adjustment, Active Brake, programmable fire controls (3-round burst, etc.) in addition to the standard digital fuse.
All MOSFET installations are hardwired in place using dual signal wires, which totally negates arcing and trigger contact burnout risk.
On TITAN compatible gearboxes, the legendary Gate TITAN can be installed using either the Basic or Advanced model configurations. You can consult this infographic for differences between the two firmware options.
Say Goodbye to the Telephone Cord
Every MOSFET installation also includes a full rewire of the gun using 16 AWG low-resistance Alphawire Ecowire. This is the same high quality wire as spec'd in the Gate TITAN's. New Lonex gold-plated motor contacts are affixed and Dean's plugs are standard. As the MOSFET uses a digital fuse, there is no need to install a cumbersome fuse assembly.
Accuracy is King
Lambda One barrels are found on every Tier 1 Upgrade. These precision-made 6.01 barrels are crafted in Japan from SUS304 stainless steel and finished out within 1 micron of straightness. They offer a superior square hop up window cut vs. PDI, which makes them naturally conducive for R-Hopping purposes. With a price-point dead-on to Prometheus and performance on par with EdGI, Lambda is currently the best value for your dollar, bar none.
Every Tier 1 upgrade includes an R-Hop install. This is a hand-made contact patch that fits the hop up window of the barrel and matches the inner and outer curvature of the barrel. This offers increased backspin and surface contact area, allowing you to extend your range dramatically vs. a conventional hop up bucking. Every R-Hop is also paired with a modified hop up arm using M-Nub material for even pressure against the contact patch. R-Hops are best used with heavier BB's and a .28g - .36g is generally recommended for rifles shooting around 400 FPS.
It's the Little Details
Whether you are sending in your personal KWA to get outfitted or buying a new one to have upgraded - every rifle is given the white glove treatment. This means cleaning inside and out - from top to bottom, removing the rails to ensure the barrel nuts are properly torqued, applying thread-locker to the appropriate screws and fully testing the gun with a variety of BB weights to ensure correct operation.
Lastly, every Tier 1 Upgrade comes with a full 1 Year Warranty guaranteeing the work.
